Badger Football home opener September 9th

I am so fired up for the football season to start. This Saturday the Badgers play Washington State in Madison at 2:30pm, which is the absolute best time for a football game in Madison no matter where you are coming from. In fact a friend just turned me on to a new website to buy Badger Football tickets. It is Badgertickets.com They have tickets for this weekend at $49 each. That is a pretty affordable price for the 7th ranked team in the country. GO BUCKY!!!!!!!!!

Jamal Cooper Suspended Indefinitely

Coach Bielema has basically thrown one of the defensive ends off the team. What did Jamal Cooper do to deserve such a penalty? I can't tell you because no one will tell me. Although we know one thing, Coach B is not putting up with any B.S. GO BUCKY!!!!!!!!!

Will Aubrey Pleasant shine or fizzle out?

As I highlighted in my football preview one of the issues the Badgers have is their safeties. Coach B has said he is satisfied with free safety Shane Carter but the competition for strong safety is wide open. Although according to Aubrey Pleasant he is the only one to practice with the first team defense at that position. I think Coach B is using the press to motivate certain players to see if they will step up to the scrutiny. So will he shine or fizzle? Only time will tell. GO BUCKY!!!!!!!

Badgers Predicted to Finish 2nd in Big Ten

For the first time in years, the Wisconsin Badger football team won’t be a dark horse coming into the season.
Unlike past years when the Wisconsin football team was overlooked by media and college football fans alike, this year’s team, coming off a 12-1 season, is facing some awfully steep expectations.
“We did too good our first year, so you set yourself up for high expectations,” UW football head coach Bret Bielema said.
Ranked No. 7 in the USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll and predicted to finish second behind Michigan by the majority of Big Ten media members who attended the conference’s football media day held July 30 through Aug. 1, the Badgers now find themselves playing with a target on their backs. GO BUCKY!!!!

Badger Football Preview

Last year record: 12-1

Last year summary: Rookie Head Coach Bret Bielema went 12-1 and won a New Year’s Day bowl game against Auburn. And the fact that Wisconsin did not go to a BCS game is a product of stupid rules that limits each conference to two bids. Those bids went to perennial rivals Ohio State and Michigan. The Badgers were denied because of a single loss on the road to Michigan, the lone sore spot in a overall terrific season.

Returning starters: Offense 9, Defense 7, Kicker/Punter 2

Players to watch: Linebacker Jonathan Casillas
Tight End Travis Beckum
Running Back P.J. Hill

Offensive Strengths: 9 returning starters
Tight End Travis Beckum
Running Back P.J. Hill

Offensive Weaknesses: Quarterbacks Tyler Donovan and Allan Evridge.

Defensive Strengths: 7 returning starters and Linebacker Jonathan Casillas.

Defensive Weaknesses: Both starting safeties are new and young.

2007 season summary: The Badger Nation has a very high expectations coming off a 12-1 a year ago. Anything but a BCS bowl game will be a disappointment. Coach Bret Bielema in his second year as head coach must find a way to topple Ohio State and Michigan to get the respect they so wholeheartedly deserve. GO BUCKY!!!!!!!!!!

It is almost time for some FOOTBALL
