After watching the Badgers narrowly defeat Texas A&M-Corpus Cristie and then lose to the Running Rebels of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas I feel like I watched a minature rerun of the season. The Badgers built us up all year long with all these expectations and then the week they finally make it to a #1 ranking they lose 2 games in a row. Then we go to the Big Ten Tournament and again lose to Ohio St. The Badgers seem like they were on the edge to becoming a elite basketball team. Unfortunately, with the loss of Alando Tucker and Kammron Taylor I don't believe the Badgers will have the type of season next year as they did this year. I do hope though that Brian Butch has a great senoir year, he definately deserves it. While I am on the subject of Brian Butch, I believe his injury had more impact on the the entire team than was reported. After all he was the 3rd leading scorer for the Badgers after Tucker & Taylor. On that note good luck to the Men's Basketball team and the Grateful Red for next year. With Bo Ryan at the helm I am sure we will have a good shot at it again next year. GO BUCKY!!!!!!

Brian Butch being the 3rd leading scorer had a huge impact on the way things ended up for The Wisconsin Badgers at the NCAA tournament. To me, the Badgers lost their winning formula when Butch went down with that injury.
I am still in awe of the fact that the badgers mens basketball team came out as flat as they did in both tourny games. u would think with the all the excitement that surrounds them that they would be better prepared to play. Watching them start was disheartening and the word pathetic also does come to mind. I am proud of what they able to accomplish though and no one can take away from the fact that they were #1 for a day if not just hours!!!!
Badgers will rise again! Wisconsin has a great coach and next year is only a few months away!

1/16/2008 - The Badgers have had a chance to be the best team in decades if Ryan would just play Steimsma at least 20 minutes a game. Not only is it fair to a SENIOR athelete that has exceptional shot-blocking abilities, but it is fair to a team that wants to go beyond the first round in a NCAA tourney. I don't understand what coach Ryan has against Greg's hard play, excellent passing and shot blocking. As a SENIOR, he should be starting, and should be playing on a regular rotation. I've been a Badger season ticket holder since 1989, and I've never seen talent like this sit bench before.
